User Accounts and Credits
PeekAI offers an optional login feature. Users who choose to create an account can receive free new-user credits and purchase additional credits for continued use of our integrated AI services. We only collect the minimal information necessary (such as email) to manage your account and credit balance.
Information Processed on Your Device
Screen Recording Data: On macOS and Windows, PeekAI requests Screen Recording or Desktop Capture permission. This permission is required to read text from your screen. The app does not capture or store images or video. Instead, it performs on-device OCR (optical character recognition) to extract text only, which is then immediately sent to your paired mobile app. No screen recording data is stored or shared with us.
Captured Text: PeekAI captures text from your computer screen and transmits it to your iPhone or iPad for AI assistance. This text is not stored on our servers.
OpenAI API Key: Users have the option to use their own OpenAI API key. This key is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded to our servers. Please note that the API key feature is supported in most regions, except where OpenAI services are restricted.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not store or share your personal screen data or images.
- We do not use tracking tools or advertising SDKs for profiling.
- Your AI interactions remain private to your account and device.
